Beer = disguised conversation about sexual relations, held in a public place such as the Dirty Robber or the workplace, preferably surrounded by coworkers who often correctly interpret the conversation despite one's best efforts
Coffee = Foreplay
Eyesex = When J&M look longing at each other for an extended period of time and it's clear they're undressing each other mentally; having sex with their eyes
Fudge Clusters! = (Or, "oh, look! Fudge clusters!" or "Fudge Clusters, really yummy") a phrase used to distract from an uncomfortable social faux pas made by the person making the distracting statement.
Isles = what the LGBT community generally referrers to as a "Lipstick Lesbian"
Lucky Charms = Refers to Jane's special bits/qualities/parts... don't make us spell this one out; under age kids read this thing!
Maurified = making it of extremely high quality, refined, and no doubt much more expensive; Tim Gunn would approve and admire
Morning Yoga = Morning time relations of the intimate kind
Pizza = Dinner time relations of the intimate kind
Really Yummy = (Or "Fudge Clusters, really yummy") a phrase used to distract from an uncomfortable social faux pas made by the person making the distracting statement.
Rizzles = Intoxicated by text and subtext, easily imagine being used by Jane Rizzoli and/or Maura Isles, being akin to Rizzoli and/or Isles, and support with examples.
Rizzoli - what the LGBT community generally referrers to as a "Butch lesbian"
Rizzolified = Making it bigger, better, and more kick ass
TGTGT = totally gratuitous, totally gay touching
Tuna = Lunch time relations of the intimate kind
Unicorn = it rhymes with porn; It's a fun little code word. Put it together ;)
Wine = conversation about sexual relations, disguised as almost anything else (related to "coffee = foreplay")
As we all know, Jane and Maura are taking a break from their normal Monday meetings for the holidays, and we here at RGB thought it'd be really nice if we created a few holiday cards for them to look at when they had downtime during the busy season of craziness that is the Boston PD.
In fact, we thought it'd be great if we girls created a few cards for the whole family... Frankie, Frost, Korsak, Bass, Joe... maybe even Watson. Who knows?!
So, ladies, get out your photo manipulation whatevers and create a card. Send us a DM, a tweet, or post a response when you're done, and we'll collect them up to post here so the R&I gang have a place to take a gander at their Holiday Cards.
Have fun! Be creative! ... Remember Dr. Isles doesn't approve of profanity but Jane does. ;)
We'll take submissions until December 13th at 6PM Central.

As we play online and enjoy our fandom, it becomes so easy to forget that outside of our bubble of wonderful women who support and love us there is a world of hate, prejudice, ignorance, and fear.
We, as a community, are so very lucky to not only have each other but to have support from outside of our community. The posts on this blog are evidence of that.
Today, we ran across this picture as we were surfing the net looking for our Photo of the Day, and it gave us pause.
We wanted to share it as a reminder of the fight that is not over yet, not by a long shot. We like to have fun here, and we love the lightheartedness of our community. We've said it before, and we mean it each time we say it. You ladies are great, and we appreciate you all. But, we just wanted to have a moment to remind ourselves to press on. Remember, ladies, love has no bounds.

If you don't see it in Jane and Maura's tweets, then we're not sure we can help you "get it" when it comes to subtext because, quite frankly, J & M have it down to a fine art. However, we've decided it's time to re-post the tweets to show you what we see. Enjoy it. Liv seems to be having small fits over it, which is highly amusing.
What's even better about the tweets than the above? The fact that Jane and Maura interact with us and make the subtext even better.

Tis the season, and we here at RGB think it's time that we Rizzles Girls made sure that our favorite doctor and detective spend the holidays the best possible way... with each other!
We feel you ladies are the best ones to make that happen. So, we present to you our first fan fiction challenge!
Give us a story of Jane and Maura's first Christmas together.
- Must be 1, 500 words or less
- Must contain both Jane and Maura (of course!)
- Must be posted somewhere anyone may have access to read it
- Must be completed by December 1st at 6 PM Central Time
- Must have a link to the story posted as a reply to this blog entry
If this goes well, we will present more fanfic challenges in the future. We hope this is a success. You ladies are talented, and, even if you don't normally write, we encourage you to take part in this challege. It's fun, and we're all here to love (or love up) the same things (well, people, really)!

I believe this is everything--very interesting questions! And of course, thank you for compiling them and following. I do hope you enjoy your weekend.
@RizzoliQuotes (me..lol) wants to know if you ever let Jane drive that Mercedes of yours? Sorry Doc, that's a hot car you have there and if I were your partner, I'd be asking to drive it...a lot! LOL!
~As worrisome as it can be, sometimes.
@mindgrape (Rachel): where do u spend the holidays? Ever with the Rizzolis?
~Oh, well, you know how the holidays are...everyone is busy but the world hardly stops moving. I generally volunteer to be on call in order that those with families can spend the time with them, so if I’m not at home, I’m in my office.
@Gretchen_Witty (Lizzie Barrett): What are your absolute favorite pair of shoes? Or designer, either or is cool enough. =]
~Each pair of shoes is...really a work of art. Even the simplest black pumps can be intriguing or delicate or racy, and they all seem deceptively simple for the amount of care and effort put into them. Every pair I have is fascinating and beautiful, and they’re all a joy to wear because of just how marvelously different they are.
@3doorsfan: How did you two first meet, and what did you each think of each other given your differences?
~Jane and I first met at work, naturally. I can’t speak to what she thought of me, as I wasn’t exactly privy to it. But I thought she seemed very tough, maybe too tough, as if she were trying to compensate for...the world. And perhaps it was because of that that I thought she was temperamental... But of course I learned that Jane is simply that way. I respected her, though, for the job she does and the way she does it.
@tbird1978 Tara: Where did you buy that red coat?!! I've searched everywhere! :-)
~You know, I was an a conference for Forensic Pathology Research and Development in Nebraska, and I happened to pick it up at a little shop--a great find! I really...hmm...I can’t seem to remember the name of the shop, but the keynote speech about Unidentified Persons was absolutely fascinating. We really should do more to help expand and update the missing and unidentified persons databases, and as... It really is troubling that I can’t remember the name of the shop; I apologize.
@mindgrape (Rachel): Do you drink wine in bed with all of your friends, or just with each other? (Meaning Jane) Just curious because my friends don't do that.
~I didn’t get to have sleepovers as a child, and even now I don’t have a large circle of friends. I work a good deal, but it’s wonderful to have both a friend and colleague in Jane.
@TheSaxyOne (Heather Snodgrass): Maura, do you have any musical tastes that would surprise people who know you?
~I don’t have a lot of time to keep up with things that are new, and I prefer to listen to the news on the mornings when driving into work. Though, there are the times when I’m in the car with Jane, and I can’t say that some of the things in her...eclectic collection haven’t grown on me. Classical music, is of course, a favorite, and the impacts that it has on the brain--especially pieces from the Baroque and Classical eras--are incredibly fascinating. Really, the spectrum of what harmonically pleasing music does to our senses...well, it’s certainly something I enjoy reading about and contemplating while listening.
@VMIKKI67 (Michelle Vanasdalan): What is your favorite down time activity that we don't know about from tweets and documentary? Favorite actress?
~I enjoy cooking. The entire process from picking out the perfect ingredients to putting them all together. And isn’t that two entirely different questions in one? I’m not sure that’s within the rules...
@StephanieEvers: If for some reason you wouldn't be able to be a medical examiner, what would you do in life? Profession or otherwise.
~Oh, it’s so difficult to say. I’d like to think I’d be some sort of hands on researcher or another type of doctor, someone who works with facts and figures but still with her hands. Science is incredibly important to me; it’s very grounding, but I like seeing it at work, feeling things and discerning things with my hands in aid of reaching a goal, of solving an equation.
@LiziJ1987: Do you believe in Soul mates?
~Attraction is an immediately chemical response that we can’t control, and there is quite a bit that we can control that makes something grow into love. But there has to be the science. I’m simply unwilling to make a definite answer when I’m not sure something like a “soulmate” can really exist.
@msanimanga (Carla): How often do you use your office? And how often does Jane use it for naps?
~Naturally, I use my office every day. I do quite a bit of paperwork there, not to mention phone calls and research. And Jane...simply sometimes needs a quiet place.
First off, thanks for roundin' up the questions! You all ask some good ones & I did my best to get you answers. Thanks also for following along with us- we love talkin' to you guys & appreciate the support! Without it, it'd just be back to Maura and me sittin' around and arguing over what goes in the dead fridge by ourselves ;)
The staff would like to know...
1.What were you like when you first became a homicide detective? Meaning, did you have similar issues to what we've seen in the documentary of Detective Frost, or have you always had the easy demeanor you do now as a detective?
A: Easy demeanor? ….Really? I’m takin’ that as a compliment.
Oh man...you really wanna know? I mean, when I first made it into homicide...well.... I wasn’t as nice as Frost, that’s for sure! It’s hard being the only woman in the place, and one of the few ever. Hard, but kinda something to be proud of, you know? At least my stomach’s always been stronger than his.
2.There seem to be some rumors regarding you and the FBI agent assigned to assist with the Hoyt case, Agent Gabriel Dean. Are there any truths to the rumors that you two considered dating, and what is the likelihood we might see something more on that later?
A: First off, that guy has the worst timing. I mean, it’s hard to go to a nice dinner with someone who only shows up to tell you your life is in danger. Second.....there’s rumors? About us? What...did he say something to you?
Really though, I just don’t know if that’s what I want now....my work’s my life, and it’s dangerous by nature. If I actually dated someone, they’d have to understand that.
3.We understand that Dr. Isles has recently learned from you how to properly hold a handgun. Are you or are there any plans to teach her how to properly use a hand gun?
She did, and I’m just glad she didn’t kill anyone. I must have been really tired to make that call....but she did look pretty badass, yeah?
To answer your question though, with our work it’s good to know how to protect yourself, but I hope it doesn’t become necessary. I mean, she’s a doctor, I’d like to think I could keep her safe while she does her job.
The Girls would like to know...
4.tbird1978 (Tara): Is Tommy a menace or just misunderstood?
I don’t want to call anyone in my family a menace....well unless you count Ma when Dad forgets to take out the trash for the third time. But we all make choices, and Tommy’s made some bad ones.
5. TheSaxyOne (Heather Snodgrass): How many times has Maura had to pop your nose back into place?
Haha! Luckily just that one time so far (it hurt!), but in my line of work it’s never bad to have the Doc around.
6. VMIKKI67 (Michelle Vanasdalan): What is your favorite down time activity that we don't know about from tweets and the documentary?
You mean besides tryin’ to catch up on sleep? Not much else really, but I have been known to dust off cold cases on slow weeks. It’s hard to relax knowing there’s families out there who might just....never know.
7. StephanieEvers: If, for some reason, you weren't able to be a detective, what would you do in life, profession and personal?
God, that’s a hard one. I mean, I worked so hard to get here it’s hard to imagine doing anything else. But, hmmm ..... I think when I was five, I wanted to be an explorer....Do those even exist anymore?
8. Msanimanga: (carla): What would you buy Maura for her birthday assuming that she won't read this and find out?
Good question, what do you get the woman who has everything...? Maybe a night out, she needs to get away from the dead fridge sometimes.
9. LiziJ1987: Do you believe in Soulmates?
I....I don’t know, I’d like to think there’s someone out there for everyone.
10. Gretchen_Witty (Lizzie Barrett): What did you name your baby African Spurred Tur...Tortoise?
Well, it was tempting to name him ‘Turtle,’ but for now I think “Watson” suits him better. That is unless we find out he’s actually a she....Maura says it’s hard to tell... I don’t want to presume ;)

Ladies, Ladies, Ladies! Our favorite kid brother @FrankieRizzoli crashed on the Rizzles Couch and we got him to answer some of your questions! Thanks Frankie for a great time! We can't wait until you stop by again! You're welcome any time!
@LOVERIZZOLISLES on Twitter asks:
@RizzlesGirls @FrankieRizzoli who usually starts all the fights first with you and Jane
I am a perfectly behaved person. Jane always starts it, just ask Ma.
@TheotherLoLo on Twitter asks:
@RizzlesGirls did frankie ever steal and hide jane's stuff when they were kids?
Jane tore the head off my favorite G.I. Joe. I stole all the beanbags from her Toss-Across. I still forget where I hid them at.
@TheSaxyOne on Twitter asks:
@RizzlesGirls What would we find on teenage Frankie's bedroom walls like posters or w/e.
Aerosmith poster, Back to the Future poster, James Bond poster, and Heather Locklear poster. I also had a signed baseball on my dresser.
@pathmarkexpress on Twitter asks:
@RizzlesGirls @FrankieRizzoli what was the score between you and @JaneRizzoli in that basketball game before you elbowed her in the nose? I know you were winning, but just for the record it'd be nice to know by how much :)
I just want to clarify that the elbow to the nose was not on purpose! But the score, the score....it was 587 to 2 if I remember correctly.
@amandalynn193 on Twitter asks:
@RizzlesGirls a question for Frankie, how did you feel and what did you do after you had to shoot Lola?
I was in shock. I thought she liked me, and you don't ever shoot somebody and feel fantastic afterwards. It had to be done though.
Anonymous asks on the RGB:
will frankie be back next season
I can neither confirm nor deny that I will make an appearance. Those documentary editors are tricky, you know?
Adm_Hawthorne (@adm_hawthorne) asks on RGB
Besides the stereotypes (playing sports, drinking beer, hanging out with the guys, etc), I wonder what Frankie does to step away and take a mental break when the job of being a cop gets to be too much for him.
I watch Back to the Future and wish I had a hover board and time-traveling DeLorean. Because seriously, who doesn't want to have a hover board and travel back and forward in time? Lame people, that's who.
Anonymous (@3doorsfan) asks on the RGB:
What made Frankie want to follow Jane into law enforcement and what kind of encouragement/guidance did she give him?
She's my older sister. She's like a role model or inspiration to me. Don't tell her though! Part of me honestly wanted to make her proud of me, the other part just wanted to help people and have a job where I wasn't following a strict routine - I'm too antsy. Jane didn't help too much though. Pretty much just told me not to upset the instructors at the Academy.
@RizzoliQuotes asks on the RGB:
Do you find that people want to be your friend just because you're a cop? P.S. Watch out for 'day-olds' I may or may not be flinging your way...
Besides the obvious "Hey can you get me out of a ticket?" stuff? Not really. The job is the job, Frankie is Frankie.
@mindgrape asks on RGB:
When you were kids, did you beat up Jane's bullies, or did she beat up yours?
Jane was protective 'cause I'm her little brother, but she might not admit it now. She's got a "rep" to uphold. Tough detective stuff, you know? I beat up hers when I got big enough. Dad taught me to always be a good man.
@dietcokebottle on Twitter:
Does your mother nag you about having children as much as she does Jane?
I'm the baby. I have time.
@dietcokebottle on Twitter
What is your favorite aspect of your job? Would you want to be a Homicide Detective as well? Or are there other departments that would interest you more?
I get to help people, and every day is never the same. I'm too restless to sit at a desk all day, I'll go crazy if I don't have something to do. I want to eventually be a Homicide Detective, but Gangs or Vice *might* be okay too.
