Interesting Facts

According to Liz Benjamin, she just finished up the R&I script for episode 6. Apparently, she cowrote it with Dee Johnson. Liz pointed in the direction of Dee's latest interview at TheScriptLab.com, and we thought we'd make sure you ladies had a chance to see it in case you missed Liz's tweet. There's some really interesting information there. Enjoy!

Checking Out The Set

The wonderful and delightful Nanci Cascio has been busy snapping a few fun pictures around set. Go check them out!

With Respect...

With respect to Nanci Cascio, we will not be reposting any pictures she is kind enough to share with us. However, we will update the blog to alert you of them so you may hop over to her account and take a look yourself!

We here at RGB want to do everything we can to make certain we can give you ladies as much Rizzoli & Isles information as we're able, but we also want to ensure that we may continue to do so. We ask that others respect Nanci's wishes as well so that we may all continue to enjoy both her extremely charming and fun personality and anything she chooses to share with us.

Thank you!

Look Who Is On Twitter Now

It looks like Bruce McGill is joining the Twitter family, and Angie made sure he came in with a bang!

New Promo

video

A new Rizzoli & Isles promo is up with a few tidbits from the first few episodes. Find it here. Our insider tells us all the clips from the new season are from the first episode. Goodness, a lot is happening in that first episode!

... and because the ladies are so very thoughtful...

She's H-O-T

The Hot 100 list has been released on AfterEllen.com. We hope everyone ran over to vote when the poles were open! We are very happy to say that our ladies made the list for the first time since AfterEllen.com started doing the Hot 100 in 2007.

Angie Harmon came in at number 48.

Sasha Alexander came in at number 61.

Next year, let's see what we can do about getting them higher on that list. :-)

At The Spa **Spoilers**

The ladies over at AUXSIP have posted the blurb from Entertainment Weekly about R&I and have a neat photo from the upcoming episode where our favorite crime fighting duo go to the spa. There are some spoilers. Go check it out!

Bruce McGill's Many Talents

Nanci Cascio posted a video of Bruce McGill playing guitar in the men's bathroom at the Rosebowl. Very interesting. Go check it out!

Angie and Cell Phones

Every celeb has their odd idiosyncrasy. It would seem one of Angie Harmon's is her complete inability to keep up with her cell phone. So, on a lighter note, we thought we'd update you girls on this odd little trend of hers.

She lost it, again, on May 21st when she was at NASCAR. She found it the next day. You may be wondering where it was. Apparently, it was on number 48's bus (that would be Jimmie Johnson, if you're wondering), which we don't doubt if the pictures are any indication of what she was doing while she was on said bus.

(check it here)

We're thinking it must have slipped out of her pocket while she was snoozing.
Basically, what we're learning here is that Angie needs someone to help manage her cell phone. She's been asked if she needs a personal phone handling assistant, she she said yes. So, ladies, who is up for the job? ;-)

Congratulations to Janet Tamaro and R&I

According to a tweet from Executive Producer Janet Tamaro:

For those unfamiliar with a Gracie, this award is given out in recognition of realistic portrayals of women in the media. Specifically, media created for women by women that is about women. It is part of a larger organization, the Alliance for Women in Media, that has spent the better part of 60 years trying to ensure equal and realistic treatment of women in media.

We applaud Janet and R&I for the win. We think it's well deserved!

Momma Rizzoli Is In The Kitchen **Spoilers**

Shane Saunders
has gotten the scoop on episode seven of season two, which will be titled "Brown Eyed Girl". According to Shane:

In the seventh episode of Rizzoli‘s upcoming second season, comforting mother Angela Rizzoli (Lorraine Bracco) will be making a change in occupation: becoming a chef at Boston Police Department!

Go check the rest of the article, which also covers the synopsis of the episode. So, Momma Rizzoli is going to be spending lots of time with her only daughter. This should prove great fun, don't you girls think?

Frankie's Got A Girl Friend **Spoilers**

According to the MegaBuzz at TVGuide.com, Frankie is getting a girlfriend, or, at the very least, a love interest of his very own that's not out to kill anyone. Apparently, she's just out to make Jane's life a living nightmare. It seems that Frankie's new love is Jane's nemesis. We can't wait to see how our dark haired detective handles this one!

TNT: You're Welcome For the Subtext

Rizzoli & Isles in the UK

RizzlesGirls is pleased to announce that Jane and Maura’s UK fans will be finally able to see the girls in action later this year.

UKTV has today announced that it has picked up the hit drama from Warner Bros. UKTV’s crime focused channel ‘Alibi’ will screen both seasons - 25 episodes in total. The first 10 x 45-minute season will air from September. The series, made by Hurdler Productions and Ostar Productions, originally aired in the US on TNT in 2010. The second season will begin airing on TNT in the US on July 11. Alibi also shows ABC produced drama ‘Castle’ in the UK.

Our show was acquired by Alibi channel head Steve Hornsey with UKTV director of entertainment Christian Drobnyk and acquisitions manager Alexandra Finlay. In an interview with UK’s Broadcast Magazine Finlay said: “This deal really reinforces UKTV’s position as a key buyer of US drama content in the UK ahead of the LA screenings.” (original interview by Alex Farber)

[Our thanks to Joy Thomas for this story.]

TEN Upfronts 2011

May 18th was the day to be in New York, as we mentioned on said day. It was the day of Upfronts, where announcements were made for the upcoming season and many, many pictures were taken. We wanted to direct you to the most important of those pictures. By most important we mean, of course, the pictures containing Sasha Alexander and Angie Harmon.

For your viewing pleasure, please go check out these two really awesome sites that have done wonderful things to support our favorite actors:

Sasha-Source.com

These two galleries have lots of yummy goodness, and, if you'd like to see pictures containing everyone else who was there, go check out wireimage.com.

***Spoilers*** Oh, the Rizzles Heart Goes Flutter!

According to our sources: Season 2, Episode 3. Maura plays the 'lesbian card' to break it off with a guy, and, yes, this is a screen cap from the scene in question. According to The Insider, the powers that be put this scene in for the fans. They know about the subtext we so very much love, and threw this in for us! We appreciate it! This scene wasn't actually in the original script. Apparently, they played it a different way, but we agree with The Insider, we like this scene much better.

Catwalk Promo

Slightly longer version of the catwalk promo. Thanks to Jamie Marmorstein for pointing this one out to us!

New Promo Poster!

Lee Thompson Young: Screen Caps!

One of our girls, Googlemouth (and Liv's partner in crime in the fanfiction world) was kind enough to take some screen caps of Lee Thompson Young's interview with Fox News yesterday. We've posted them here for everyone to enjoy!

Speed Dating Promo 2

video

AUSXIP has uploaded the second version of what is quickly becoming one of our favorite Rizzoli & Isles promo spots... evar. Everyone go thank the ladies over there for putting this up. Then, go tell @TNTweknowdrama and @RizzoliIslesTNT that we appreciate them so very much. Remember, it's not really, "TNT: We Know Drama". It's really, "TNT: We Know Subtext".

Upfronts... It's Starting

Upfronts, Subtext, and Other Imporant Things

(Thanks to whispersunreal for the awesome screen caps)

Let's talk about all the exciting things going on today, shall we?

Today is the day we all wish we could be in New York City with a press pass. It's Upfronts day, and, by tomorrow, we'll all be giddy from the awesome amounts of new pictures and information regarding our favorite summer series.

We know Angie and Sasha are already there. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll tweet us some awesome pictures?

The new Rizzoli & Isles promotional commercials are out, and, this time around, they're not using footage from last year. The last two to come out are using the catwalk shoot we saw behind the scenes footage from a little while back, and a clever setting using speed dating as the backdrop to make the argument that Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles are a "perfect match".

We applaud TNT for not running from the subtext. In fact, it looks like they're ramping it up. TNT: They Know Subtext

On a final note, it seems Angie Harmon will be driving the pace car on Saturday for the Sprint Cup Race.

SUBTEXT... And Some People Were Worried

video

[Thanks the the fabulous ladies at AUSXIP who gave us the okay to repost this! Go check out their site!]

Let's talk subtext. We've heard a lot of grumblings about the possibility that TNT and the powers that be might pull the subtext away for fear of lesbians running wild in herds through the production studio wearing their flannel and demanding nothing short of complete lesbian loving between Jane and Maura... or something like that.

Well, ladies, this promo pretty much sums it up, doesn't it?

There. Will. Be. Subtext.

We're not even sure if this counts as subtext. At this point, it's petty much main text, isn't it? Let us count the ways, shall we?

1. Jane and Maura are doing the speed dating thing
2. None of the men they're talking to are working out
3. The only person either of them seems to enjoy the company of is the other. Meaning Jane and Maura only seem to care for each other's company.
4. Maura is so dressed femme, and Jane is so dressed butch. Come on!
5. Eye sex at the table when they're sitting together
6. They are clearly on a date here... we mean, really?!
7. The following dialogue:

Maura: We should do this again sometime.
Jane: Definitely

Announcer: Rizzoli and Isles, a perfect match...

If you were worried, don't be. If you're like us here at RGB and are dancing around like school girls who just got asked to the prom by the person you most wanted in the whole, wide world, we saved space for you on the dance floor.

Buckle up, ladies. It looks like season two is going to put us Rizzles Girls into overdrive. Awesome.

Upfronts... Are Going to Be Awesome

Upfronts Tomorrow!

Happy Birthday, Sasha

The wonderfully lovely, exceptionally talented, and imensely gracious actress we all know and love, Sasha Alexander, is celebrating her 38th birthday today. With a successful career, a loving and accomplished husband, and two beautiful children, we hope Sasha has an amazing birthday filled with the love of her family and friends.

If you have the chance, swing over to twitter (@sashaalexander1) today, and send her a birthday wish or two!

[On a side note, if you made the above picutre, please let us know so we may give proper credit. We attempted to follow the tumblr link indicated, but it is a dead link for us.]

BAM! You're Preggers

The new promo featuring the catwalk we've already seen is out on TNT. If you haven't seen it, here it is. Prepare to drool, ladies

(check it here) (can also be seen here)

The song is: "Paris (Ooh La La)"-Grace Potter & The Nocturnals. Thank you @JanayKinney for pointing that out!

After taking a moment to drool over the video a few times and realizing that people (points to comments section) are already pointing this out before we could get to it, we thought we'd give you the lyrics and a link to the full song. Trust us, you'll want to read these.

Un, deux, trois, quartre

Oh la la

You got me down on the floor
So what'd you bring me down here for?
You got me down on the floor
Well what'd you bring me down here for?

If I was a man I'd make my move
If I was a blade I'd shave you smooth
If I was a judge I'd break the law
And if I was from Paris,
if I was from Paris
I would go:
oh-la-la-la-la-la-la, a-oh-la-la-la-la-la-la
oh-la-la-la-la-la-la, a-oh-la-la-la-la-la-la

Hey! You got me up on your swing
So when you gonna shake that thing?
Hey! You got me up on your swing

So when you gonna shake that thing?

Cause if I was a man I'd make my move
If I was a blade I'd shave you smooth
If I was a judge I'd break the law
And if I was from Paris,
if I was from Paris
I would say:
oh-la-la-la-la-la-la, a-oh-la-la-la-la-la-la
oh-la-la-la-la-la-la, a-oh-la-la-la-la-la-la

[solo]

If I was a man I'd make my move
If I was a blade I'd shave you smooth
If I was a judge I'd break the law
And if I was from Paris, if I was from Paris
I would go: oh-la-la-la-la-la-la
(check it here)

For those of us worried about a lack of subtext in season two, I think this pretty much covers it. (Did we all notice the eye sex there at the end?) The season hasn't even started yet, and we already have subtext writhing and moving to the beat of swagger.

Worlds Colliding

If you heard a squeal on Friday the 13th (aka last Friday), it wasn't anyone trying to avoid the path of a black cat or stepping aside to keep from walking under a ladder. What you heard was Liv squealing in delight like a three-year-old at the following from Jane and Maura:

(check it here, here, here, here, and here)

If you're wondering why she was dancing around like a toddler hyped up on pixie sticks, it's because she's pretty sure twitter Jane and twitter Maura have been doing their research into what the online community has been writing up about them. What do you ladies think?

Coming & Going Is Coming Here!

Big news on the Ponti home front! Edoardo Ponti's file Coming & Going starring Rhys Darby and Sasha Alexander is making some impressive rounds.

It would seem the North American rights have been bought by Echo Bridge Entertainment. According to The Hollywood Reporter (see also Variety):

Echo Bridge Entertainment has grabbed all North American rights, while Front Row has taken rights for the Middle East, HBO for Poland, Grandview Castle for the Czech and Slovak territories and Mysteria for Russia.

This is fantastic all the way around, and we're very happy for this exciting news for Edoardo. We hope everyone has a chance to see this movie. We know we're looking forward to it.

Ladies, we don't know about you, but we think Lee Thompson Young may, possibly, be the cutest sidekick they could have found for the part of Frost. What do you think?

What's Going On Around Set?

The wonderful and fun Nanci Cascio, aks @haircolordiva, has been posting some fun pictures from set, and wanted to make sure you girls didn't miss them!
